About the Role (Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX)
Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Core Banking Technology portfolio team. This position is critical to driving strategic projects across key banking functions, including deposits, loans, items processing, general ledger, compliance, and shared services.
The Senior Project Manager will partner with operations, business leaders, technology teams, and steering committees to deliver initiatives from discovery and analysis through to implementation. The role requires strong project leadership, financial accountability, and the ability to coordinate matrixed resources across multiple lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, from small initiatives to large-scale enterprise programs ($250k–$9M).
- Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, execution, risk management, and reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align business and technology priorities.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and baselines.
- Provide weekly status reports, executive-level updates, and committee presentations.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; manage escalations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with PMO standards, governance, and project management frameworks.
- Motivate and guide cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Drive process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency and standardization.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven success managing large-scale projects with multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Strong knowledge of PMO governance, financial management, and reporting.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred:
- Banking or financial services experience, particularly in core banking systems (deposits, loans, GL, item processing).
- Experience with M&A, conversions, or large-scale system integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks (not required).
- PMP, Agile, or ITIL certification (preferred, not required).
- Experience with Clarity PPM and Visio.
