Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
to lead and scale the operational infrastructure of our staffing organization. This executive role is responsible for driving operational excellence across all facets of the business, including service delivery, compliance, process optimization, technology integration, and cross-functional alignment. The ideal candidate brings
extensive, hands-on experience in the staffing industry , with a proven ability to lead complex operations across temporary, contract, and direct-hire staffing models. This leader will be a critical partner to the CEO, helping to shape and execute the company’s growth strategy while ensuring high performance, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping to define and implement the company’s vision, goals, and long-term strategy. Lead operational strategy and execution across all business units to drive scalability and sustainable growth. Translate high-level strategic objectives into actionable operational plans across regions and service lines. Operational Oversight Oversee day-to-day operations across all branches, departments, and service areas—ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality execution. Lead the integration and optimization of staffing functions, including internal recruiting, temp/contract staffing, and direct hire services. Drive performance metrics related to fill rate, time-to-fill, margin, retention, and customer satisfaction. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations applicable to the staffing and employment services industry. Implement and monitor risk mitigation processes related to workforce compliance and operational practices. Technology & Process Innovation Evaluate and implement technology solutions (ATS, CRM, VMS, workforce platforms) to support efficiency and competitive advantage. Lead continuous improvement efforts, process redesigns, and operational best practices to increase speed, accuracy, and scalability. Team Development & Leadership Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of regional managers, department heads, and operations professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration across departments. Financial & Business Performance Lead operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost management in alignment with business goals. Deliver executive-level reporting and insights to the CEO and board on operational health, growth drivers, and performance trends. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field (MBA or equivalent executive-level education preferred). Senior leadership experience within the staffing industry , including oversight of large-scale operations, P&L responsibility, and multi-location management. Deep knowledge of staffing business models, workforce compliance, labor regulations, and service delivery operations. Proven success in scaling operations, driving change, and building high-performance teams in a growth-oriented environment. Expertise in staffing technologies and systems (e.g., ATS, CRM, VMS). Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Data-driven decision maker with strong financial and analytical acumen.
