Overview: We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineering Manager with leadership skills to maintain and improve the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud and on-premises-based applications and infrastructure. You will design, automate, and manage systems in a hybrid environment, ensuring that both on-prem and cloud services run seamlessly. This role requires strong collaboration with a globally distributed team to implement scalable, automated solutions and foster continuous improvement in operational processes. Responsibilities
Hands-on Leadership: Take an active role in managing and improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of both cloud and on-prem systems. Resolve complex issues and troubleshoot failures; expect 30-40% hands-on work. Hybrid Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage infrastructure across on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid environments for high availability and cost-effectiveness. Automation & Optimization: Lead automation initiatives for provisioning, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident resolution. Develop and maintain automation scripts using IaC tools. Reliability & Performance: Ensure systems are highly available, resilient, and scalable with proactive monitoring and incident response. Report KPIs for continuous improvement. Distributed Systems: Manage globally distributed systems and teams across multiple regions. Infrastructure as Code: Use IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to manage cloud and on-prem infrastructure. CI/CD & DevOps: Collaborate with development teams to refine CI/CD pipelines across hybrid environments. Incident Management & Postmortems: Oversee incident management, lead root cause analyses, and drive improvements. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of App Hosting engineers across geographies; foster effective communication with distributed teams. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, development, and infrastructure teams to design solutions for hybrid and global environments. Mentorship & Coaching: Promote continuous learning and best practices in infrastructure management. Project Management: Prioritize initiatives spanning multiple regions to meet global infrastructure needs and timelines. Process Improvement: Define and implement processes for stability, scalability, and efficiency; improve incident management, postmortems, and on-call rotations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 10+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering with hybrid/on-prem and cloud experience. 5+ years of leadership experience with globally distributed teams. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Programming/scripting in Python, Go, Ruby, or Shell. 5+ years hosting enterprise applications on Windows, Linux, Cloud, and On-Prem. Extensive experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, etc.). Monitoring/logging tools experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.). Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.). Strong understanding of SOA, microservices, and distributed systems across regions. Excellent communication and leadership skills for remote teams. Familiarity with VMs, containers, networking, VPNs, and load balancing in hybrid environments. Additional Qualifications (nice to have):
