Position : Program Director, Child Welfare Services (Region 7 Lead FPS) –

Appling, Columbia County, GA . Responsibilities

Manages the administration of policies and programs designed to protect children and families. Ensures mandated services with priority of child safety and service provision to children and families. Directs subordinate managers and staff. Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure outcome measures are achieved. Assures agency compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements. Builds and encourages a cooperative, team-oriented environment within units and with other agencies and providers. Develops and administers budgets; plans and maintains operation of social services programs. Facilitates communication within units/agency on case-level and policy-level matters. Hires, directs, trains, evaluates performance, and when necessary disciplines/discharges staff. Leads and administers a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability and social services. Monitors compliance, evaluates effectiveness, and recommends improvements to policies. Provides direction and support for ongoing operation of specialized programs; offers technical assistance and training to internal and external providers. Major Roles & Responsibilities

Lead Field Program Specialist (Lead FPS). Serve as job expert or organizational resource in assigned areas. Collect and analyze data related to performance indicators and resources. Develop social programs, assess needs, coordinate services, and avoid duplication. Develop and publish plans for needs assessments and implementation; deliver formal and informal training. Develop policies and procedures in accordance with laws and regulations related to primary programs. Identify and assess economic and social developments; develop and utilize local resources. Mentor new supervisors and staff; monitor compliance and evaluate effectiveness of policies. Provide direction and support for ongoing operation of specialized programs and training to internal/external providers. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years experience managing subordinate supervisors in a human service delivery program; OR Bachelor’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Welfare Svcs Admr (SSP164) or position equivalent. Related qualifications/experience:

Social work and behavioral science degrees; related fields include social science, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, criminal justice, education, public health and public administration. Related experience includes the provision of services in a social services environment. Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years or more managing subordinate supervisors in DFCS or comparable child welfare agency, managing CPS, Foster Care and/or Adoptions. Special Requirements

Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, a valid state-issued driver’s license, and an acceptable driving history record. Additional Information
