Overview
Jr Sediment Remediation Engineer
CDM Smith is seeking candidates for a junior level Sediment Remediation Engineer position. The candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists on sediment remediation projects for clients in the Federal and Public sector. Sediment remediation experience is considered on an individual basis; experience in the following areas is preferred.
Responsibilities
Providing expertise in evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for large riverine and coastal sites involving multiple stakeholders.
Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling technologies, cap modeling, and remedial action design.
Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediment sites, including assessing and understanding problems, developing and communicating technical strategy to the client, and interacting with CDM Smith subject matter experts.
Possessing in-depth expertise in the CERCLA process steps at sediment Superfund sites.
Serving as a technical liaison with the client, communicating complicated technical evaluations and designs to non-subject matter experts.
Leading other staff in preparing, reviewing, and scrutinizing technical information to produce technically sound documents that conform to regulations and policy.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Team player with excellent written and verbal skills.
Client-focused with ability to partner with clients (mainly Federal and Public agencies).
Negotiation and presentation skills.
