We are currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Equipment. This position will report to the Assistant Athletics Director of Equipment.

The Assistant Director of Equipment for will manage the various equipment needs for all 36 programs in all aspects surrounding practice, travel, and game day.

Your responsibilities include:

Work closely with the Director of Equipment for Football and the Director of Olympics, student athletes, coaches, and staff, advising them with respect to purchase, issue, and return of all athletic equipment

Implementation of department inventory control system

Ordering with our main apparel vendor, Nike and utilizing their Gameday ordering system

Ordering other equipment and accessories for football and athletics along with tracking and receipt of orders

Oversee and manage the laundry area as it pertains to all sports

Keep and maintain accurate inventories

Oversee and manage 5 contingent staff members

Oversee the daily organization and storage area within the equipment room, keep room neat and organized and up to all OSHA / Fire Marshall codes

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Knowledge of athletic equipment and its proper use

Experience with laundry services for athletic teams

Ability to perform in a professional manner in a high pressure environment

Ability to multi-task and be flexible

Basic computer experience

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to keep detailed records

Ability to work flexible and irregular hours including traveling to all away games, weekends, and holidays

Certifications and Licenses Required

Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to drive day or night.

Work Standards:

When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.

In addition, our preferred qualifications include:

Two years working in an FBS, FCS, or professional team equipment room

Experience with Nike (or other brand) ordering system

Experience with ACS (or competitor) inventory control system

Knowledge of University branding, logos, and trademark regulations, as well as, conference and NCAA rules as they pertain to recruiting, equipment and uniform logo requirement

Athletic Equipment Manager Certification (or able to receive certification within 1 year)

The expected pay for this position is $76,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
