Overview
The
Director, Systems & Event Technology
is a hands-on technical role supporting RILA’s core systems, including the AMS (Salesforce/Fonteva), email marketing (Act-On), event technology, and other SaaS tools. You will manage the technical operations of RILA’s event platforms ensuring they are configured, supported, and fully leveraged for conferences and meetings. As part of the systems team, you’ll have a hand in initiatives that reach across nearly every part of RILA — keeping data accurate and accessible, strengthening member engagement, empowering marketing campaigns, supporting conferences, and enabling committee operations. This is an opportunity to play a visible role in RILA’s operations by shaping how technology and data drive organizational success. On a daily basis, you’ll configure, optimize, and support systems for new projects, resolve technical challenges, and help staff make the most of RILA’s platforms. You’ll keep systems reliable, data dependable, and tools effective while working as part of a three-person team that collaborates with events, sales, marketing, and other departments to implement solutions and drive continuous improvement. Position Responsibilities
Configure and support RILA’s platforms to meet new project and initiative requirements. Contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of new features, system enhancements, and platform updates. Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement technical solutions that increase efficiency and effectiveness. Create and refine reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for staff and leadership. Ensure systems are optimized, reliable, and aligned with organizational needs. Event Technology and Registration
Serve as a systems resource for the events team, supporting the setup, operation, and maintenance of registration platforms, event technology, and attendee data. Serve as the primary technical resource for event platforms, supporting the setup, operation and maintenance of registration systems, mobile apps, badge printing, and integrations. Provide on-site support during events, ensuring smooth operations by troubleshooting attendee registration issues, processing transfers, handling last-minute registrations, and addressing technical challenges. Assist attendees, members, and customers with registration and platform inquiries to ensure accurate registrations, financial data and integration. Manage event platform tasks before, during, and after conferences, including generating reports, maintaining accurate records, and reporting registration counts and trends. Travel to conferences and events up to 3 times per year to provide hands-on registration support. Internal Support
Provide technical troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance to staff, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively. Guide colleagues in using RILA’s platforms to meet their goals, offering support on system features and best practices. Develop and deliver occasional training sessions or resources to help staff build confidence and efficiency with RILA’s systems. Serve as an internal resource for improving staff, member, and customer experiences with RILA’s platforms. Systems Maintenance
Assist in executing platform upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure minimal disruption and maximum utilization. Participate in the testing and implementation of new features and system improvements. Maintain and optimize RILA’s information systems to ensure they meet staff and membership needs. Collaborate with vendors and partners to resolve issues and implement system updates. Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with internal teams to align systems solutions with organizational needs and goals. Act as a liaison between staff and vendors, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution of technical issues. Keep stakeholders informed about system updates, progress on initiatives, and incident resolutions. About RILA

Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, marketing, finance, or other fields is desired but not required. At least 5 years of experience in project management, data operations, events, marketing, membership, or comparable roles focused on day-to-day operations. Experience as an administrator or power user of SaaS platforms, AMS systems, marketing platforms, event technology, or similar tools. Skills and Competencies: High proficiency and a strong aptitude for learning business applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Survey Platforms, and AMS/CRM platforms (You know how to do a vlookup without Googling it.) Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, focusing on identifying and resolving technical, process, and/or data issues quickly and effectively. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as needed, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities. Salary & Benefits
Starting salary range is $100,000 - $110,000. Flexible and hybrid office environment (3 days in office; Department Day in office is Tuesday; other days to be discussed with VP).
