The
General Counsel
at the Justrite Safety Group will provide legal advice to management on all aspects of business law for the company’s global business. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, advising on labor matters, managing third-party legal vendors, governing global legal entities, managing leases, overseeing intellectual property, participating in and advising on mergers and acquisitions, managing litigation, and related activities. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, providing a clear pathway for career advancement with potential growth within 3–5 years based on meaningful contributions to organizational goals. protects the business and enables growth. We collaborate with leaders across the company to ensure compliance, manage risk, and provide practical, business-focused guidance. The team covers contracts, corporate governance, regulatory matters, and intellectual property, balancing legal requirements with strategic business goals to support innovation and operational excellence. What You’ll Do at Justrite
The role focuses on legal concerns of the global company, including management of outside counsel, advising senior management on legal implications for business decisions, and handling or supervising litigation to minimize outside counsel costs. With input from the CEO and CFO, determine when outside counsel is needed, select counsel, negotiate terms, and supervise representation. Review contracts and advise on obligations, rights, and risks. Provide risk mitigation and improve terms for purchase orders, sales, sourcing, e-commerce, and a wide range of contracts. Evaluate the company’s position in contract disputes and assist in developing resolution approaches; occasionally negotiate settlements. Oversee real estate portfolio reviews to ensure optimal property utilization and regulatory compliance. Manage an in-house compliance program focusing on trade compliance, import/export regulations, and FCPA adherence. Supervise and mentor paralegals to improve efficiency and legal support delivery. Manage corporate entity governance, including registrations, renewals, resolutions, and director/officer appointments to ensure compliance. Oversee renewal and management of third-party insurance providers and policies. Manage intellectual property, including U.S. and foreign trademarks and patents; coordinate applications and renewals with commercial and operational teams. Advise and support management on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other partnerships. Other Responsibilities
Provide training to employees in contract law and the contract review process. Advise HR on legal issues, including employment forms, handbooks, personnel policies, and interpretations of policies and laws. Advise HR and senior management on conflicts among employees, discipline, handbook applications, and regulatory compliance. Draft or review company policies and rules. Your Skills and Expertise
Minimum qualifications: Undergraduate degree and JD required. Minimum of 10 years of related legal experience with broad knowledge of commercial law, entities, IP, and corporate law. Member in good standing of a state bar association. Strong legal analytical skills with practical business orientation. Ability to work effectively across global boundaries. Mergers and acquisitions experience. Additional qualifications that could help include: Initiative in identifying and managing risks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and collaborative approach. Self-motivated problem solver with composure under pressure. High integrity with diverse perspective. Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Experience presenting to Boards of Directors and senior executives. Judgment and time management skills; flexibility and problem-solving attitude. Compensation
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $220,000 to $275,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on location, relevant experience, and performance. The role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance total compensation when Justrite and its business units achieve targets. Benefits
