*Job Title: Full-Time Optometrist (Residency Trained -Ocular Disease)*

Vision Institute is a medically focused (OD/MD) eye care facility in the Pikes Peak region, dedicated to delivering advanced, patient-centered care. Our practice emphasizes full-scope optometry, with a strong focus on the diagnosis and management of complex ocular diseases. Our team performs in-office procedures, removal and treatment of chalazions and other eyelid lesions, including selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) for glaucoma treatment, and YAG laser capsulotomy for post-cataract surgery care. We are seeking a residency-trained optometrist in ocular disease to join our dynamic team, contributing to our high-volume practice managing conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, optic neuritis, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as specialty contact lens fittings for our keratoconus patients.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages, with an emphasis on diagnosing and managing complex ocular diseases.
* Utilize advanced laser procedures (SLT, LPI) to treat glaucoma.
* Perform YAG laser capsulotomy for post-cataract surgery patients.
* Perform in-office procedures, including removal and treatment of chalazions and other eyelid lesions.
* Manage high-volume cases of glaucoma, macular degeneration, optic neuritis, NAION, and other ocular pathologies.
* Co-manage corneal crosslinking patients with our ophthalmologist and other outside optometrists for keratoconus and other corneal ectasias, including fitting scleral and specialty contact lenses.
* Co-manage pre- and post-operative surgical patients, including those undergoing cataract, refractive, and corneal crosslinking.
* Prescribe corrective lenses, specialty contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as needed.
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
* Educate patients on ocular health, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with practice and regulatory standards.
* Support training and development of clinical staff to ensure high-quality support for medical procedures.
*Qualifications*
* Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program.
* Residency trained with experience in ocular disease diagnosis and management.
* Active and unrestricted license to practice optometry in Colorado (or eligibility to obtain).
* Advanced Procedures certification in Colorado (or willingness to obtain), enabling full-scope practice, including laser procedures and in-office surgical interventions.
* Extensive experience in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, optic neuritis, and NAION.
* Proficiency in performing laser procedures (SLT, LPI, YAG capsulotomy) and in-office treatments like chalazion removal.
* Experience with scleral and specialty contact lens fittings for medically necessary cases.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.
* Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-provider medical setting.
