Remote, Field-US Based The Opportunity Our client provides a strong collaborative network in support of an innovative pipeline across therapeutic areas including inflammation. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives every day. The function of the Medical Science Liaison, Team Lead is fundamental to the achievement of the MSL team’s goals, namely the execution of Clinical Development programs and building connections to the external medical community, communicating scientific/clinical information and collecting insights to enhance strategic objectives. You will support activities across both Medical Affairs and Clinical Development objectives for the client’s portfolio of pipeline products. You will serve as both an MSL with your own territory and the MSL team leader responsible for managing the overall MSL team. As an MSL, you and your team will act as a key interface with clinical trial sites across development programs, working closely with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations. You will also collaborate with Medical Affairs to identify and engage opinion leaders to communicate non-promotional scientific information about disease states and/or pipeline products across therapeutic areas. What You Will Do
Manage the MSL Team: Under the direction of the head of medical outreach and engagement, work with team members from medical affairs, clinical development, and clinical operations to build and execute the overall MSL plan. This includes Clinical Trial Support, Scientific Expertise, Opinion Leader Engagement, Cross-Functional Support, and Compliance. You will perform these functions for your territory and ensure MSLs on the team perform them in accordance with client needs. Clinical Trial Support: Serve as the primary interface between the client and clinical trial sites across development programs, collaborating with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations to ensure successful execution of high-quality clinical studies. Advise and participate in planning and setup of clinical studies for your assigned region; ensure alignment with local CD/Clinical Operations/CRO colleagues for flawless execution at sites in your region. Scientific Expertise: Develop deep scientific expertise across therapeutic areas, including inflammatory bowel disease. Serve as the subject matter expert in these areas in your region and demonstrate scientific credibility, leadership, collaboration, and perceptiveness. Opinion Leader Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and study staff within your region across therapeutic areas. Cross-Functional Support: Provide scientific support to Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial and other cross-functional colleagues to execute key corporate strategies. Support activities such as scientific congresses, advisory boards, and speaker programs; share clinical and scientific insights with cross-functional teams. Compliance: Operate in an ethical manner and comply with all laws, regulations, and policies. What We Expect
A terminal degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) preferred or minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution required Experience managing people is required Experience managing an MSL team is preferred Biotech experience is a plus Fluent in English is required Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present medical/scientific information clearly Adept at developing relationships and building networks Excellent organizational skills and results-oriented mindset Ability to influence without authority and negotiate with confidence Ability to work independently and in a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, ideally inflammatory bowel diseases Experience with clinical trial design, conduct, and evaluation Permanent residence within the region assigned Able to travel up to 40-60% of the time Must successfully complete all Amplity and required client training Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record Credentialing Requirements As a representative of a pharmaceutical company, you may be required to submit and maintain credentials, such as training, vaccinations, and other job-related documentation to access hospitals or healthcare providers. Some jurisdictions or hospital systems may require applying for and obtaining a representative license. Geographic considerations may include the District of Columbia, City of Chicago, State of Nevada, State of Oregon, or facilities such as Jackson Memorial Health in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
