What you’ll do
Manage the Powertrain (Battery Pack/Electric Motor) manufacturing design engineering teams, responsible from prototype through series production Collaborate with Product Design Engineering, Test, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams Lead the development of a high-volume electric motor/battery pack production system including Design For Manufacturing Equipment selection and management Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test New Product Introduction Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs, optimize product flow and line efficiency by designing or improving tools, jigs, stations, work methods and ergonomics using the 5S methodology Drive process control, specifically in the areas of quality and equipment capability Support process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) Support supply chain development and procurement of key components Support operations on the shop floor, establish KPIs in order to drive performance management, identify trends and mitigate risks Develop, coach and mentor MEs to ensure they understand roles & responsibilities, provide performance feedback, develop a career roadmap and partner with them on their career aspirations What you need
BS or MS Degree in Engineering or a related field 5+ years experience in manufacturing and / or automation 2+ years experience in the EV field specifically with electric motor manufacturing (rotor or stator manufacturing)/battery pack manufacturing 2+ years managing team Strong hands-on experience with prototype and high-volume manufacturing Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Excellent organizational and communication skills Demonstrated experience in statistical process control, GD&T, and lean manufacturing concepts Knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, NEC, UL508A) Knowledge of Safety Standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA) Experience integrating/setting up/using a wide variety of industrial equipment such as dispense systems, torque tools, power transducers, etc. Experience with CAD, PLM, MES, and ERP software. Working knowledge of PLCs, robots, motion control devices, vision systems and human machine safety devices. Strong organizational skills Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Stator and or Rotor Lines RFQ/PO/FAT/SAT/SOP and handoffs Experience with Stator and or Rotor lines vendors and its machines deployment Experience with Hairpin Stators and or Permanent Magnet Rotors FAR 23 experience Part 21 experience Compensation For this position we are targeting a base pay between $183,600 - $204,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
