Under minimal supervision, the Senior Workday HRIS Analyst plays a dual role, combining knowledge of HR business processes with technical expertise in Workday configuration, business processes, reporting and integrations. This role supports end-to-end Workday system design, configuration, and maintenance while also building and managing integrations with internal systems and external vendors. The analyst partners closely with the departments within the People Care segment and the Discount Tire corporate office to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant solutions that enable business strategy and enhance employee experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Integrations & Technical Development
Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations across HCM, Benefits, Talent Management, and Payroll, supporting data exchanges with internal systems and external vendor platforms. Monitor integrations for accuracy, timeliness, and reliability, and troubleshoot complex issues across Workday and connected systems. Research, recommend, and implement updates, fixes, and enhancements for integrations and reporting solutions. Serve as integration lead on projects requiring Workday data transfer, ensuring accurate specifications, execution, and stakeholder alignment. Conduct impact analysis, testing, and validation of integrations and reports during Workday releases and system upgrades.
Functional Configuration & Enhancements
Apply functional expertise to Workday through analysis, configuration, testing, debugging, and deployment of new features, workflows, and business processes. Administer and maintain Workday modules, including configuration changes, release management, and deployment following best practices. Lead or support requirements gathering, solution design, and execution of test plans across Workday functionality. Partner on enterprise initiatives such as acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvements as an HCM subject matter expert. Identifying opportunities for process optimizations, functionalities from manual/external systems into HCM. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for recurring or high-impact system issues.
Reporting & Analytics
Design, build, and maintain advanced reports, calculated fields, metrics, and dashboards for stakeholders at all organizational levels. Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver analytics that support business decision-making. System Support & Governance Provide tiered support for HRIS users, employees, and vendors by resolving system/data issues, access problems, and process failures. Maintain Workday security structures and tables to ensure data integrity and system stability. Perform regular audits to confirm data accuracy, compliance, and identification of control weaknesses. Maintain comprehensive documentation of Workday integrations, configurations, and business processes.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and the HRIS team to align Workday solutions with organizational needs and the product roadmap. Champion Agile/Scrum practices by actively participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Provide timely progress updates to management regarding project status and deliverables.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide backup support to HRIS team members across integrations, reporting, and configuration functions. Mentor, coach, and train junior HRIS Analysts (I and II), supporting skills growth and knowledge transfer. Stay current on Workday advancements, HCM trends, and HR technology strategies to recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications: Required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HRIS configuration and integration development experience, hands-on expertise in Workday. Experience with Workday Enterprise Integration Builder EIB) and Workday Studio required Two years experience with XML, XSLT, Web Services Formal Workday training or certifications. Proficiency with Workdays security roles/permissions and integration capabilities (data imports, exports, Core Connectors, EIBs, Studio). Skilled in Workday reporting tools (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) to create complex reports and deliver analytics. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in business process optimization analyzing, streamlining and improving business processes to enhance efficiency. Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions with strong critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas both verbally and in writing and translate technical concepts into business-friendly language. Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism. Strong customer service orientation, able to manage diverse stakeholder needs with a positive, solutions-focused approach. Coordinates projects and functions as the primary product liaison between internal customers. Leads projects which impact HRIS data maintenance, including mass updates and or complex reports. Troubleshoots complex customer and system issues including error messages, login difficulties, access denials, data issues and process failures in both HCM and Timekeeping System. Ensures the development, updates and modification of security setup to ensure data integrity and system stability. Analyzes HCM upgrades to determine impact of workflow and configuration. Reviews, researches, recommends and implements updates and fixes for the HCM and Timekeeping System. Determines additional or modification needs of setup. Provides progress reports to inform management of project status. Ensures processes for transferring data between HCM, Timekeeping System and other applications are accurate and timely.
