Senior Business Analyst - Crew Management Systems

Job Accountability/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions - Requirements Development: Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business and technical requirements for the new crew system. Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with crew dispatchers, trainmasters, HR, and compliance teams. Translate complex operational rules and labor agreements into system requirements and user stories. Essential Functions - Business Analysis:
Collaborate with internal and external development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog during the design and build phases. Participate in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with business goals. Essential Functions - Domain Expertise:
Provide subject matter expertise on crew scheduling, hours-of-service compliance (FRA), rest cycles, and union agreements. Analyze legacy crew systems and workflows to inform the design of modern, cloud-based solutions. Support integration planning with related systems (e.g., train movement, payroll, EDI. Essential Functions - Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into system design and development. Support change management and training efforts as the new system is rolled out. Education, Experience, Certification/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Transportation, or related field. 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in the railroad industry, with a focus on crew management systems. Strong understanding of railroad operations, crew scheduling, and regulatory compliance. Experience with systems such as HOS (Hours of Service), CMMS (Crew Management and Monitoring Systems), or similar. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills

Experience with modernization or cloud migration of legacy crew systems. Knowledge of EDI standards related to crew or transportation Prior experience working with unionized labor environments and crew rulebooks. Values:
