Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis for approximately 8 weeks. This position is based in Statesville, North Carolina, and offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise in invoice processing and payment management. If you have a strong background in accounts payable and are detail-oriented, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities: Process invoices accurately and efficiently to ensure timely payments. Review and verify invoice coding to maintain proper financial documentation. Conduct regular check runs and ensure payments align with company policies. Address discrepancies in invoices and resolve issues with vendors. Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for audit purposes. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper expense allocation. Monitor and manage accounts payable aging reports to prevent overdue payments. Assist in reconciling accounts payable ledgers with general accounting records. Ensure compliance with local government financial regulations and standards. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements: Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment management. Strong knowledge of financial systems and tools used for accounts payable. Ability to handle check runs and ensure compliance with payment schedules. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for recordkeeping. Effective communication skills to resolve vendor issues and collaborate with teams. Familiarity with local government financial regulations is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
