The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Executive Assistant in the Human Capital Division. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: The Human Capital and Development (HCD) Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support to the HCD Division Director and division senior leadership, serving as a critical partner in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the division. This role is responsible for managing complex calendars, coordinating and managing divisional projects, preparing and reviewing reports, facilitating divisional communications, assisting with the organization and updating of divisional policies and procedures, and serving as a liaison between the Division Director, internal staff, and external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant ensures accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all work while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment. The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave. Located in beautiful Central Virginia, the Richmond area puts you just 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia Beach and Washington DC. Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications: Knowledge/Experience of specific programs and/or operations in an administration or executive assistant role, preferably in human resources or public sector environment. Knowledge/Experience of technical/system aspects of the position. Knowledge/Experience of procedures/processes of the position. Knowledge/Experience of program development/planning/implementation. Knowledge/Experience of systems/programs/computer software. Knowledge/Experience interpretation and application of federal, state laws/regulations. Experience in meeting deadlines. Experience with internal/external stakeholder. Experience in handling confidential information. Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations: Experience with project management tools. Experience with managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under tight timeframes. SHRM or other HR certification.
