The work you will do: Clerk / Consultant Project Management The clerk will offer general administrative support, which includes answering and routing phone calls, taking messages, and responding to inquiries. They will handle routine correspondence, maintain organized files and records, compile data for reports, and manage incoming and outgoing mail. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed. Where you will work: Florida Department of Transportation D7 - Headquarters 11201 N. McKinley Dr. Tampa, FL. 33612 Your specific responsibilities: Answers and routes telephone calls, takes messages, and answers general questions. Greets guests and directs them to the appropriate staff. Schedules meetings and processes office documentation as necessary. Operates a variety of standard office equipment such as copiers, scanners, computers and fax machines. Composes and produces routine correspondence. Maintains files and records of correspondence, invoices, documents, reports, and other materials. Compiles data from office files and documents into reports. Receives incoming mail and processes outgoing mail for the work unit. Maintains property control for annual inventory. Serves as the Unit Custodian for the department. Processes surplus requests for equipment and furniture. Also processes Public Records Requests accordingly and timely. Performs other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of: General office procedures and practices. Techniques for effectively dealing with people. Skills in: Providing customer service. Use of office equipment. Use of a personal computer. Ability to: Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer database. Follow oral and written instructions. Review data for accuracy and completeness. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Minimum qualifications: A high school diploma or its equivalent and prior experience in an office environment.
