Collections Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will focus on managing business-to-business collections, ensuring accurate account reconciliations, and applying payments efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and expertise in credit and collections processes. Responsibilities: Manage business-to-business collections by contacting clients regarding overdue accounts and negotiating payment arrangements. Analyze and reconcile past-due accounts to ensure accuracy and resolution of discrepancies. Process cash applications and allocate payments to appropriate accounts. Maintain detailed records of client communications and account statuses. Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and improve collection processes. Utilize Microsoft Excel to track collections, prepare reports, and analyze financial data. Provide exceptional customer service to address client inquiries and concerns. Support continuous improvement efforts in credit and collections workflows. Identify and escalate unresolved accounts to management for further action. Monitor and report on collection metrics to ensure targets are met. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in business-to-business collections. Proficiency in account reconciliation and cash application processes. Strong knowledge of collection procedures and billing systems. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Customer service skills to effectively address client needs and concerns. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients. Experience with Accumatica is a plus, but not required.
