Pay Range: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience.
Overview
The Service Advisor is responsible for communicating with customers about their vehicle repair needs and relaying information to the Service Technicians. Duties include greeting customers, helping them determine repairs and relevant costs, maintaining up-to-date knowledge about Boss Shops range of services, and contacting customers to update them about their vehicle’s repair status.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, competent customer service.
- Coordinate the service center’s scheduling and workflow.
- Service writes for the location, including creating estimates and work orders, finalizing payments, following cash handling policies, and ordering parts and collecting for all jobs.
- Answer customer questions about service outcomes and consult with Technicians as needed.
- Understand marketing and sales strategies to finalize all transactions.
- Consult with Technicians about needed repairs and communicate those needs to the customer.
- Increase knowledge of products and services to meet industry needs.
- Understand customers’ needs and convey them to Technicians, and vice versa.
- Keep all customer-facing items cleaned, stocked, and up to date.
- Receive merchandise, stock, and update pricing for showroom products.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the Boss Shop Warranty process.
- Assign work to technicians within company guidelines.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.
- Report to work in a timely manner when scheduled.
Education and Experience
- Retail or guest service experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and insurable to drive.
- Working knowledge of parts inventory.
- Ability to complete the Service Advisor New Team Member Training within the first 90 days of employment.
- Ability to use computer systems efficiently.
- Ability to read, write and perform math skills.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Flexible and adaptable to change when required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transportation and phone.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
- Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
