What You'll Do
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork and communicate issues with loads and delivery times with production, sales, and customers
- Work safely to prevent injuries by following safety rules and wearing required PPE
- Drive trucks to weigh stations, document weights, and comply with state regulations
- Ensure vehicle is properly loaded and load is secured for safe and timely delivery
- Inspect vehicles for safety or operational defects using DOT, maintenance, and safety checklists
- Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions
- Load-related tasks may include securing chains, tarping loads, and trailer handling
- Maintain logs of hours and vehicle service status in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the geographic region
- Set up a sideboard kit around the trailer floor as needed
- Use Electronic Logging Devices (ELD); training provided
- Perform additional duties as needed
What You'll Need
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License required
- Pass DOT and company drug testing programs and physicals as required
- No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 3 years
- No DUI or DWI within the last 5 years
- Ability to pass a company road test
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor/trailer experience required (flatbed hauling over-the-road experience preferred)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Frequent physical activity and ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- English language proficiency and effective listening/verbal skills
- Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges
