Staff Accountant (Finance)

Overview

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. Your responsibilities will encompass various financial tasks, including reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting principles will be instrumental in supporting the financial health and decision-making processes of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze and streamline Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Evaluate current accounting systems and software to identify areas for improvement and implement upgrades or new systems as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within accounting processes and lead the implementation of automated solutions to reduce manual workload and minimize errors.
  • Develop and document standardized workflows for accounting processes to ensure consistency and best practices across the team.
  • General Responsibilities
  • Perform basic accounting procedures as needed (e.g., A/R, A/P, and reconciliations).
  • Communicate with customers and vendors as needed to solve any problems with accounts.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best accounting practices.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Two or more years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pace environment and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
