Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports To: C.F.O

Status: Full Time; Exempt

Direct Reports: 1

Department: Administration

Location: Des Moines

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 4pm

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 plus $10,000 bonus eligibility, yearly

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing professional support in the administration of office, accounting functions, and managing Point of Sale team. This position is also responsible for ensuring consistent and effective customer service to both internal and external customers. The senior accountant plays a key role in helping Doll Distributing with their vision: Building Brands and Building Relationships. All duties performed are expected to be within the objectives, standards, mission, and policies of Doll Distributing LLC, State of Iowa laws and regulations governing the beer industry, and brewery/supplier requirements.

  • Oversee and reconcile daily transactions across all bank accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries; perform monthly General Ledger reconciliations
  • Administer annual 1099 reporting process
  • Prepare and submit the annual Minnesota Liquor Sales Report
  • File monthly Beer and Wine tax reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines
  • Provide support to the CFO with quarterly initiatives and special projects
  • Track, report, and dispose of fixed assets utilizing Asset Keeper and VIP systems
  • Actively participate in annual external audits and internal audit reviews
  • Supervise and provide oversight for the Point-of-Sale (POS) inventory team and Easy Check software
  • Serve as backup support for the POS team when needed
  • Conduct additional reporting and accounting functions on a daily, monthly, and annual basis, as assigned

Non Essential Functions

  • Serve as a back up to Pricing and other accounting positions, including pricing

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in Accounting; preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience, required
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Proficient in time management
  • Intermediate excel spreadsheet skills

Working Conditions

  • Visual/Hearing Capabilities
    • The visual ability necessary to read and interpret a computer screen and differentiate product types is required. The hearing ability necessary to communicate with others is required
  • Travel
  • This position may require travel to other Doll Distributing locations as needed, with potential overnight stays
