Pay Rate: $20.00 Hr
ASM Global is the world’s leading venue management and services company, delivering live experience solutions. We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Building Security Guard to join our team at Target Center, home of the MN Timberwolves and MN Lynx.
Job Summary: This part-time, flexible-hour role fills in for our 24/7 security team during vacations or sick days. The Building Security Guard ensures the safety and security of Target Center’s patrons, employees, and assets through a visible presence, patrols, incident response, surveillance monitoring, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, remains composed under stress, and demonstrates strong communication and observational skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain 24-hour security of the interior and exterior of the building.
- Conduct regular patrols of the building and grounds to detect and deter unauthorized activity or safety hazards.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and other equipment to ensure safety and security.
- Operate and maintain surveillance tools and technology efficiently.
- Respond to safety and security calls, incidents, and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
- Take appropriate action in response to incidents, including diffusing disturbances, providing assistance, and contacting law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
- Interact with patrons, vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance and information as required.
- Control access to the building, verify credentials, and direct vendors and visitors.
- Identify and report suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
- Prepare detailed incident reports documenting observations and actions taken.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and security teams when necessary.
- Keep detailed records and logs of surveillance activities and incidents.
- Review, save, and analyze footage to assist in investigations and legal proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and company policies related to surveillance.
- Perform regular audits of the surveillance systems and recommend improvements.
- Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities within guidelines and deadlines set by the Security Manager.
- Comply with and adhere to the department's performance, conduct, and attendance standards.
- Exhibit exemplary conduct and appearance while on duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education)
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of related work experience.
- Ability to represent the Security Department in an exemplary manner.
- Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees and managers in other departments.
- Ability to perform effectively in crises and under pressure.
- Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
- Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
- Previous experience in a similar surveillance or security role.
- Proficiency in operating complex CCTV and surveillance equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (if assigned to outdoor posts).
- Ability to lift and/or move objects as needed.
