Overview

Delivery Driver role at Elliott Electric Supply. Shifts Available: Night Shift 9:00pm-4:00am or until route is complete, or 3:00am-12:00pm or until route is complete.

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders.
• Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination.
• Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket.
• Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than 1 type B violation in past 3 years.
• A minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the past 36 months, operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs or more preferred.
• Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze.
• Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions.
• Must adhere to proper safety regulations, with possible exposure to excessive noise and moving machinery.
• Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach.
• Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds.
• Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner.
• The USDOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation does not authorize medical marijuana as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee\'s positive drug test result.
