Overview

Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to delivery location. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material being unloaded is correct based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion. This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. This test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Responsibilities

• Transport materials over designated routes and ensure safe operation of vehicles.
• Provide prompt, courteous deliveries and excellent customer service.
• Verify Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest; secure loads for transport; unload correct materials at delivery locations.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections for maintenance and safety.
• Manage warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery; maintain orderly warehouse.
• Comply with safety-sensitive requirements and pre-employment drug testing policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no Type A violations; or no more than one Type B violation in past 3 years.
• Minimum 1 year of driving experience in past 36 months operating a commercial motor vehicle with GVWR 10,001 lbs or more (preferred).
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze; work independently with attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving in various weather conditions; adhere to safety regulations; exposure to noise and moving machinery.
• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching.
• Regular handling of objects and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• DOT medical qualification and pre-employment medical evaluation; USDOT drug and alcohol testing regulations apply; medical marijuana not recognized as a valid explanation for positive drug tests.
