Overview

We are a global law firm with a powerful strategic focus and momentum. The Manager, Marketing Events is responsible for planning and executing firm-hosted events and programs in all offices within the US and Latin America. This position works collaboratively with the Marketing and Business Development team, lawyers and office contacts to implement initiatives focused on promoting the firm and enhancing our culture. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, organized, collaborative and able to engage with multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing Events and requires work hours in excess of standard workday and work week, especially during peak event seasons. We offer a hybrid working policy with in-office as-needed requirements; remote work is possible unless tasks dictate otherwise, or if requested to be onsite by the supervisor.

Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and execute firm events, meetings, webinars, conferences and related activities, virtual and in-person; including venue and vendor research, contract negotiation, budgeting, resource materials preparation, registration and attendance collation, feedback and post-event analysis for all assigned events.
  • Manage and coach marketing events team direct reports, as assigned.
  • Partner with Business Development and Marketing teams to determine event scope, objectives, invitation lists, content and promotional/implementation plans.
  • Editor and manager of assigned event communications; track event requests, approvals, plans and summaries; final approver for save-the-dates, invitations, reminders and thank-you messages; draft surveys; ensure consistency with firm style guide and branding.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of vendors and subcontractors to effectively execute all aspects of events.
  • Collect and interpret reporting metrics for events (budget vs. actual, attendance, objective fulfillment).
  • Travel to firm functions and training sessions as required.

Qualifications and job-related skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum seven years of experience planning and executing professional corporate events
  • Experience mentoring and managing at least two seasoned event professionals
  • CMP certification a plus, but not required
  • Experience in a professional services marketing environment a plus
  • Strong knowledge of events strategy and vendor negotiation
  • Strong budget management and reconciliation skills
  • Client-service orientation with diplomatic and collaborative approach
  • High professionalism, integrity and discretion
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, responsiveness and excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good judgment and accountability for delivering high-quality work
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Reliable, flexible, can-do attitude; ability to travel as needed

Salary information: The full-time base annual salary for this position in the New York City market is expected to range between $110,000 and $140,000; salaries in other markets vary by market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and depend on performance.
