Overview
A leading law firm is seeking a Marketing Events Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and management of a wide range of firm-sponsored events. This role will manage client-facing programs such as seminars, CLEs, networking receptions, and webinars, as well as internal events including attorney meetings and retreats. The Marketing Events Manager will play a key role in creating meaningful experiences that strengthen client relationships, support attorney business development efforts, and elevate the firm's brand presence. This position requires a highly organized professional with strong project management, communication, and vendor negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with attorneys and business development teams to design event strategies aligned with business goals.
- Plan and execute firm-hosted events, including CLEs, seminars, receptions, client entertainment, and business development programs.
- Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, contracts, catering, AV, branding, and event materials.
- Oversee registration processes, attendee communications, and onsite execution.
- Measure success by tracking key metrics, collecting feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
Webinars & Virtual Programs
- Partner with attorneys to develop webinar content aligned with client interests.
- Manage logistics for webinars, including scheduling, speaker prep, registration, and technical delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing communications to promote webinars through email, social media, and the firm's website.
- Ensure seamless execution by troubleshooting issues and coordinating with IT or vendors.
- Oversee post-event engagement, including surveys, follow-ups, and lead tracking.
Event Marketing & Promotion
- Develop invitations, promotional campaigns, and digital content to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Partner with marketing communications to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Internal Events & Meetings
- Support attorney retreats, practice group meetings, and firmwide gatherings.
- Coordinate agendas, presentation materials, and AV requirements.
- Conduct run-throughs and testing to ensure smooth delivery.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and monitor event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring quality service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of event planning experience in a law firm, professional services, or corporate environment.
- Strong project management, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in event registration platforms, CRM systems, and virtual event tools (e.g., Zoom, Webex).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build strong relationships with attorneys, clients, vendors, and staff.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
