Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to support a government software engineering program. The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and implemented. The ideal candidate will have experience working in government contracting environments, supporting the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), and translating complex business needs into actionable technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements from government stakeholders and end users.
  • Develop requirement documentation, including business process workflows, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented effectively.
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user story refinement in Agile development environments.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and requirement review sessions with stakeholders.
  • Track and report progress on requirement changes, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ensure requirements traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, and verification of developed solutions against requirements.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and other deliverables to support program and client needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably on government contracts.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with requirement management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, or similar).
