Overview

The Call Center Representative role offers the opportunity to develop professional skills, work with multiple systems, and contribute to process improvements in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process service line-specific transactions in accordance with standard work and the service line service level agreement.
  • Act as a BSC Call Center Representative, answering approximately 50 calls per day.
  • Utilize five or more state applications to verify customer information in relation to their questions.
  • Respond to emails and tickets between calls.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the BSC RightNow ticketing system.
  • Conduct professional written and telephone communications; prepare email correspondence to customers, vendors, program administrators, and other stakeholders regarding requested information.
  • Resolve difficult processing errors, identify system user needs, and manage complex transactions.
  • Analyze data and resolve complex auditing problems related to NYS business practices, including various audit functions and related processes.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and participate in all continuous improvement activities.
  • Consistently provide quality customer service to all BSC customers.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in a call center environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multiple computer systems.
  • Prior experience in customer service and problem resolution.
  • Three or more years of experience processing business, finance, or HR transactions. Acceptable qualifications include:
    • Option 1: High school diploma and three years of full-time experience processing business, finance, or human resource transactions.
    • Option 2: 60 semester credit hours of college-level study.
    • Option 3: 30 semester credit hours of college-level study and one year of experience processing business, finance, or HR transactions.

Exciting Opportunity Details

  • Rate: $21.00 per hour
  • Length of engagement: 1-year with potential for extension into longer-term or permanent employment with the state agency
  • Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm
  • Location: Albany, NY
  • Free parking available
