Gusto is growing our Revenue Business Systems team and is looking for a dynamic, visionary business technology developer. You''ll design, build, and administer our Salesforce and automation platforms for our Sales, Service, and Marketing teams. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

Solution Architecture & Design

Provide architectural oversight and strategic guidance for all Revenue business systems projects, ensuring solutions align with long-term business objectives. Translate complex business needs into detailed user stories, functional specifications, and clear acceptance criteria. Maintain a deep understanding of technical architecture across multiple domains and coding implications to guide development teams and inform design decisions.

Custom Development & Integration

Hands-on development, testing, and deployment of end-to-end Salesforce solutions, primarily using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce. Implement and manage integrations between internal systems and external applications using REST APIs. Lead the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration.

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Analysis

Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating discussions to gather, define, and refine project requirements. Lead requirement-gathering sessions and workshops to elicit needs and propose scalable solutions on the business system platforms.

Quality Assurance & Process Management

Uphold high development standards by participating in peer code reviews and enforcing deployment best practices.

System Maintenance & Optimization

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues to ensure high availability and efficiency of revenue systems.

What We Are Looking For

Expert knowledge of Salesforce systems architecture and design patterns. Deep knowledge of Salesforce products across all SDLC phases. Experience with 3rd party integrations and system design. Strong proficiency with Force.com Platform (Apex, Flows, Lightning, UI - LWC/Visualforce, SOQL, Unit Testing). Understanding of SaaS data models, connected web services, and API design. Experience with Salesforce DX, Git/Github or similar version control, and CI/CD as part of DevOps. 8+ years building custom Salesforce solutions. 5+ years integrating business applications using platforms like Mulesoft, Snaplogic, Workato, and APIs. 3+ years mentoring junior developers and administrators. Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I & II, Platform App Builder, and/or System Architect) are highly preferred. BA/BS in Computer Science/Math or equivalent experience. Passionate about helping small business owners and turning pain points into solutions. Compensation & Office Expectations

Cash compensation for this role is targeted at $165,000-184,000 in Denver, $180,000-200,000 in Los Angeles and most remote locations, and $200,000-223,000 for San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience. Gusto has physical offices in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees based in these locations are typically expected to work from the office on designated days (approximately 2-3 days per week, or more depending on the role). Note: Office expectations extend to Symmetry, Gusto''s subsidiary in Scottsdale. The San Francisco office includes the SF and SF Bay Area.
