Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the inpatient setting works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care Neurosurgical team. The complexity of the NS service line requires an in-depth knowledge of the multiple aspects of neurosurgery and the ability to develop a thorough health care plan for the patients seen in this space. Primary function is inpatient setting. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
Responsibilities
The APP works in the inpatient neurosurgery setting and collaborates with a multidisciplinary health care team to develop comprehensive health care plans for patients. Ensure an environment of safe, quality care with adherence to evidence-based practice and professional standards.
Qualifications
Required Education: MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants Licenses/Certifications: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Required Related Experience: No experience required Physical Requirements: The position requires regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Shift: Day shift; typically beginning at 5:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 7 days in pay period with weekend requirement.
