Job Description The Executive Sous Chef will oversee kitchen operations while working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to manage the culinary team, ensuring the seamless execution of food service across for all Homestead restaurants, including events. This position requires advanced culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of kitchen operations, including inventory management, staff development, and quality control. The Executive Sous Chef will be instrumental in maintaining the restaurant's reputations for outstanding food and service. Key Responsibilities · Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistent quality and presentation of dishes for all of the Homestead outlets and events. · Supervise and lead kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and other culinary team members, ensuring efficient operations and teamwork. · Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and receiving of ingredients, and ensure proper storage, rotation, and waste reduction. · Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in all kitchen areas, adhering to all health regulations and company policies. · Ensure staff training and development, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement. · Assist in the preparation and execution of large-scale events, catering services, or private dining experiences as needed. · Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure that the kitchen is well-equipped, organized, and running efficiently. Qualifications · Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or executive sous chef role. · Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. · Extensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety regulations. · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with guests, staff, and management effectively. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy items when necessary. · Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Skills · Experience in a resort or multi-outlet property. · Familiarity with catering and large-scale banquet operations. · Strong understanding of cost control and budgeting in a culinary setting. Compensation Starting at $25/hour
