Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of the organization, ensuring that all accounts payable activities are executed efficiently and accurately. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and proficiency in various accounting software. The ideal candidate will support the finance team by maintaining accurate records, processing invoices, and performing account reconciliations. Duties Process accounts payable transactions including invoice verification, data entry, and payment processing. Bank reconciliations, credit card statements to address discrepancies. Process payments, tracking outgoing payments, pay sales/used taxes and assist with audits. Maintain organized records of all accounts payable documents for audit purposes. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required. Proven experience in accounts payable or corporate accounting roles. Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently. Experience with public accounting or governmental accounting is a plus. Knowledge of Viewpoint/Spectrum systems is advantage. Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization while providing support to various departments. The Accounts Payable Specialist will contribute significantly to the overall efficiency of the finance team.
