Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available for surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical techniques, patient care, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. Duties Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures by utilizing aseptic techniques. Assist in the collection of data related to patient care and surgical outcomes. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate efficient surgical operations. Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for before, during, and after procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist in patient positioning before and after surgery. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control protocols. Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-procedure. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic. Provide support in various settings including Level I & II trauma centers, PICU, ICU, ambulatory surgery centers, and emergency medicine environments. Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Proven experience in an operating room setting or related hospital experience. Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and critical care practices. Knowledge of suturing techniques and patient care standards. Experience with data analysis skills relevant to surgical outcomes. Proficiency in using EMR systems for maintaining medical records. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in advanced life support may be preferred. Experience working with pediatrics is a plus; familiarity with trauma center protocols is highly desirable.
