Job Summary
We are a cold storage meat and produce wholesaler and we are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various types of truck driving, including but not limited to box truck, flatbed, and refrigerated trailer operations. The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting goods to designated locations while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. Duties Operate and drive commercial vehicles, including mainly box truck, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and dump trucks. Load and unload freight as necessary, ensuring that cargo is secure and properly distributed. Follow designated routes for timely deliveries while maintaining accurate logs of products delivered, payments received, and signature documentation of client. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Effectively and proficiently load products with team members and accurately unload produce to client on a timely matter. Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and at delivery sites. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience driving box trucks is a must and knowledge of routes around Houston is preferred but no required. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other types of trucks is a plus. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles is highly desirable. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 90 pounds) as required during loading and unloading processes. Majority of products are average 40 lbs or less and there will be hand truck for your personal use. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining logs and documentation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
