Job Overview Michael Kinder & Sons is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects ranging from $1M to $50M. This leadership role manages the entire project lifecycle—from planning and budgeting through construction and closeout—while guiding a team of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to deliver excellence. Senior Project Managers act as strategic leaders, client representatives, and change agents, ensuring projects reflect our commitment to safety, quality, and meaningful relationships.

Projects are typically within a 90-mile radius of our central office, so team members can return home at the end of the day.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality.
Lead project planning efforts, including logistics, staging plans, schedules, scopes of work, and budgeting.
Develop project goals and assign responsibilities to project teams.
Manage project accounting functions including subcontract awards, purchase orders, cost reports, and invoice approvals.
Oversee subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs, continually forecasting and analyzing construction progress and profitability.
Support estimating team with subcontractor and self-perform bid processes.
Conduct effective project meetings, including preconstruction turnover, kick-offs, progress updates, and OAC meetings.
Supervise and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field staff.
Ensure safety compliance, quality control, and adherence to company SOPs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and governmental agencies.
Prepare contracts, proposals, budgets, change orders, and related project documentation.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience: 7+ years in commercial/industrial construction and project management; proven experience in general construction.
Strong technical ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
Thorough knowledge of construction methods, technologies, and equipment.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
Ability to foster collaboration and maintain professional client relationships.
