Our client, a leading organization in the energy and resources sector, is seeking an Environmental Construction Specialist to support capital projects focused on medium-to-large-scale earthwork and associated civil construction | Long-term contract (W2 + Benefits) | Laptop & vehicle provided | Local candidates preferred This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in the field, ensuring construction activities align with environmental regulations, safety standards, and project requirements. What You'll Do Conduct daily site walk-throughs and monitor grading/earthwork activities. Ensure compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), including daily/weekly inspections and documentation. Oversee environmental and habitat protection measures, including buffer zones and sensitive species monitoring. Maintain accurate field documentation (daily reports, logs, RFIs, corrective actions). Participate in project meetings and coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Support restoration activities and ensure best management practices (BMPs) remain in place post-construction. Actively promote and enforce site safety and environmental programs. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience on large-scale construction projects, ideally with environmental, civil, or earthwork scope. Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, SWPPP oversight, and construction best practices. Ability to manage field documentation, reporting, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Certifications such as SWPPP Inspector and MSHA (24-Hr Surface) are highly desirable (or willingness to obtain). Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered). Why This Role?
