Since 1972, St. Francis Center's mission has been to feed, serve, and walk with the poor as a community of hope in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi. St. Francis Center seeks a Development and Marketing Coordinator to assist the organization's growing community engagement efforts and to execute a comprehensive development plan. The ideal Development and Marketing Coordinator will be goal-oriented, highly organized and detailed, effective under pressure, has good communication skills, and possesses excellent prioritization and research skills.
This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm schedule).
Pay: $29 / hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Development Operations & Systems (60%)
● Become familiar with St. Francis Center's mission, existing programs and budget.
● Maintain systems and processes developed by the Director of Development.
● Process and acknowledge gifts with timely, compelling thank-you letters and email/phone follow-up.
● Manage donor database (Donor Dock), ensuring data accuracy, segmentation, and reporting.
● Research donor prospects and help identify potential funders and engagement strategies.
● Assist with creation of fundraising appeals (mailed and emailed) throughout the year.
● Support the development of automated workflows for donor engagement and reporting.
● Help coordinate logistics for fundraising and stewardship events.
● Reconcile donations with the Accounting Department on a monthly basis.
Digital & Donor Engagement (40%)
● Implement and schedule approved email communications and newsletters.
● Manage and update the website and blog content in coordination with program staff.
● Create basic marketing and donor materials in Canva and other platforms.
● Manage and grow social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
● Collaborate with the Development Director to draft and schedule social media content aligned with development goals.
● Track analytics for digital campaigns and social media; provide insights and adjustments as needed.
● Take and organize photo and video content to support storytelling and donor engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or relevant work experience, is highly preferred.
● Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and fundraising a huge plus.
● 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or donor operations.
● Experience with donor databases (Donor Dock, Raiser's Edge NXT, or similar).
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Canva (Adobe Suite is a plus).
● Strong written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
● Experience managing professional social media accounts.
● Highly organized, self-starting, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
● A creative thinker who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
● Excellent organizational, research and interpersonal skills.
● Compassionate towards guests and volunteers.
● Willing to roll up your sleeves and assist with programs as necessary.
● Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
