Vital Care of Cambridge is looking for an engaging and driven staff pharmacist to join and help support our experienced team Job Summary The staff pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services to the company and consumers through the appropriate evaluation of physician orders, compounding of sterile preparations, and safe and efficient dispensing of medications, supplies, and administration equipment. The staff pharmacist may supervise the activities of pharmacy support personnel, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures. This position reports to the pharmacy manager. This position can, at any time, be required to assume the duties of any of the various job summaries within the franchised pharmacy and is the assumed pharmacy manager when the actual Pharmacist in Charge is not on site. The staff pharmacist may serve as the backup administrative manager of the pharmacy if the primary manager is unavailable for prolonged period of time per Massachusetts State Law. Responsibilities Clinically manage acute and chronic patients Share on-call responsibilities with the Pharmacist in Charge Work 40 hours per week on site in our Cambridge, MA location Willingness to be flexible with rotating to other future locations in MA Work within a cleanroom and/or supervise cleanroom operations Answer phone calls, and communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and other staff and healthcare team members Maintain patient records and pharmacy records in accordance with federal and state regulations Manage a patient case load, and cover for other pharmacists' responsibilities when they are not on site Enter orders, process and evaluate insurance benefits, verify orders and assess them for completeness Supervise technicians and support staff Work in accordance with all federal and state regulations Work in accordance with all Vital Care and Vital Care of Cambridge policies Skills Strong interpersonal communication and team working skills Comfortability researching new methods, skills, guidelines, regulations, etc. Be able to multitask or delegate appropriately Time Management Self-Starter Data Analysis and Scientific Discussion Creating and Maintaining Professional Relationships Critical Thinking Education and Experience Must have either a BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD – grad intern applications will not be accepted at this time Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in Massachusetts, and have a license in good standing Must have at least one year of pharmacy practice experience in any sector Must have good interactive skills with employees, referral sources, physicians, consumers Must stay up to date on any regulatory or clinical practice updates Must have strict attention to detail and strong documentation practices Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of clinical experience 1+ years of experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding 1+ years of experience with specialty therapies Sterile compounding training and a firm understanding of USP Experience with management of pharmacy support personnel Physical Requirements Lifting over 40lbs comfortably and safely Standing/sitting for extended periods of time Frequent use of a computer/keyboard Use of latex products Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $ $85.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Paid time off Parental leave Retirement plan Vision insurance Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: pharmacist: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: MA BOP (Required) Ability to Commute: Cambridge, MA Required) Ability to Relocate: Cambridge, MA 02139: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
