We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing various systems. This role requires proficiency in working with programmable logic controllers, HVAC systems, and precision measuring instruments. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for ensuring that the physical plant operations of all buildings on campus are in safe and effective working conditions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform preventative and periodic maintenance checks on the electrical, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning and other mechanical systems Repair and replace light bulbs and electrical switches and outlets as needed. Repair and change locks on doors, windowpanes, etc as needed. Conduct monthly inspections of grounds and Buildings on campus Assists with set-up and breakdown rooms for special events (i.e., tables, chairs, A/V equipment, etc.) Ensure guest rooms are in working order (i.e., lights, bathrooms, appliances, etc.) Assist with snow and leaf remove to ensure clear and safe walkways/pathways Participate in the on-call schedule rotation Respond to weekend and after-hours calls from students, faculty and guests on campus Available to work on weekends and holidays as needed and in emergency situations Requirements High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent HVAC or other related trade certification (plumbing, carpentry, electrician, etc.) preferred Basic computer skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially email software Ability to communicate diplomatically across various levels, including guests, alumni, faculty, staff, and students. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to use telephonic communication tools (e.g., telephones (landlines and mobile) Position requires the ability to see both near and far distances, with or without reasonable accommodation.
