Benefits Administrator I

The Benefits Administrator I performs benefits administration responsibilities by utilizing benefits systems, payroll systems, carrier systems, and collaboration among vendors/colleagues while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations and plan documents. Responsibilities include: Ensuring courteous and efficient handling of customer service calls from internal and external clients regarding benefits and benefits related issues. Being the main point of contact for benefits enrollment system for annual Open Enrollment, new hires, existing employee updates, qualified life events, & special enrollments. Assisting in special projects and transition efforts by performing the same or similar duties during transfers to ensure seamless benefit transitions between positions and entities. Troubleshooting problems in the benefits systems, making suggestions and correcting issues. Responding timely to emails, faxes, & other notices regarding employees benefits. Processing all National Medical Support Notice orders, QDROs, CMS forms, etc. Monitoring rehires for correct benefits coverage start dates and coverages for reinstatements, if applicable. Keeping all systems updated with employees' most current demographic information for accurate EDI transfer to benefits carriers. Monitoring carrier and file feed error reports and timely resolving all issues. Assisting employees and covered dependents in understanding the company benefits offerings. Assisting employees with benefits enrollments and login issues in ENFRAHR / Benefits Admin. Conducting benefits enrollment meetings, advising on eligibility, costs and coverages. Distributing benefit communications to eligible participants. Monitoring benefits email inbox and promptly responding to questions and requests. Involving benefits Broker to assist participants with claims and questions as needed. Receiving HIPPAA certification and following HIPPAA policies. Reconciling all benefit carrier invoices, allocating for cost accounting, and timely processing all monthly benefits carrier invoices. Auditing benefits carrier invoices monthly to UKG Benefits Admin. Auditing payroll deductions in legacy payroll systems to Benefits Admin. Uploading eligibility and demographic data updates into Fidelity for 401K plan administration. Communicating directly with benefits carriers regarding employee eligibility/issues. Backing up our Employee Leave Specialist by: Advising employees and managers on the organization's leave programs, including maternity or paternity leave, medical or disability leave, military leave, or unpaid leave. Analyzing leave claims or requests, determining employee eligibility. Assisting managers in the development of alternate work arrangements or coordination of coverage, and managing employee return to service or separation. Recording leaves and adjusting time or pay in the HRIS or payroll systems as needed. Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. Qualifications required: Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources functions, preferably in benefits administration. HRIS benefits administration and other insurance carrier administration systems experience. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite with advanced experience in Outlook, Word and Excel required. Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented and accurate. Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. Willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment and ability to perform duties outside their scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance or related field. Travel Requirements: 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
