Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented
Human Resource Generalist
with a strong emphasis on
documentation management and compliance . This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate HR records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations, and supporting HR functions such as onboarding, policy enforcement, payroll, and audits. The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in HR best practices, and adept at handling confidential information with discretion. Key Responsibilities: Documentation Management: Maintain and update employee records, including personnel files, benefits enrollment, and performance documentation. Ensure all HR documentation complies with legal and company standards. Develop and manage HR filing systems (both electronic and physical) for easy access and retrieval. Track and process employment verification requests and maintain compliance-related records. Compliance & Policy Adherence: Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance. Assist in policy creation, updates, and enforcement, ensuring alignment with legal standards. Conduct regular audits of HR documentation to verify accuracy and compliance. Support workplace investigations by gathering documentation and maintaining confidentiality. Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available. Employee Relations & HR Support: Manage the onboarding process, ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified. Support offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and documentation management. Provide guidance to employees on company policies, benefits, and compliance-related inquiries. Partner with HR leadership to develop and implement best practices in document control and compliance. HR Systems & Reporting: Generate reports related to compliance, employee records, and HR metrics as needed. Collaborate with HR leadership to implement process improvements for documentation efficiency. Payroll Responsibilities: Process and submit accurate, timely payroll for all employees. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure proper deductions. Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws. Manage garnishments, tax withholdings, and payroll adjustments. Prepare payroll reports for leadership and audits. Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices. Qualifications & Skills: Education:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of HR experience, with a focus on compliance and documentation management. Strong knowledge of employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA). Proficiency in HRIS systems and document management software. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Experience in conducting audits and maintaining compliance documentation. Preferred Qualifications: HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus. Experience in an industry with strict compliance requirements (e.g., healthcare, finance, government) is preferred.
