Supports the Tooling, Maintenance and Production areas with technical expertise regarding the Tools & Dies. Responsible for the control, quality, throughput and safety of the tool & die process. Coordinate Launch activities (design reviews, buyoff activities at die shops and home line). Ensuring all new tooling meets safety and throughput goals. Responsible for Engineering Change activities (quoting, outsourcing, design reviews, buyoffs and run offs at home line, keep tracker of engineering change activities). Continuous improvement leader for material saving, throughput activities, process improvements, quality improvements and other improvement plans. Work closely with Quality department and customers to improve build issues and quality scores. Trains tool & die with specific procedures (spotting, machining and engineering change procedures). Reviews departmental KPI's and determines improvement objectives. Document and assess repairs made to improvement and engineering projects. Ensure adherence to safety rules and PPE. Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule. Participation in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors). Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards. 8+ years automotive tooling experience preferred; 10+ years in tool & die, with a journeyman card required. Strong Microsoft computers skills required; Quality Assurance knowledge required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
