Overview
The Mailroom Associate provides exceptional mail and shipping/receiving services, delivering operational functions in processing inbound/outbound mail, distributing/delivering mail, and shipping and receiving products and supplies to support the onsite business service center in a timely manner. This role emphasizes delivering the highest level of service to all clients and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image through prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Duties and Responsibilities
Provide 5-star customer service to all employees (in all forms of communication). Receive inbound mail/packages, sort mail, and input into chain of custody software. Operate mail machines including the postage meter, photocopying machine, and mail folding and inserting machine. Maintain records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information. Manage outgoing mail/package transactions. Perform duties associated with shipping and receiving of materials. Notify employees upon receipt of inbound deliveries. Distribute mail/packages to company personnel. Act as point of contact for mail/package inquiries. Submit work orders for certain requests. Maintain the Business Service Center area in a neat and orderly fashion. Monitor level of office supplies and replenish and order accordingly. Proactively seek out additional work during downtime. Build professional relationships with customers and other teams. Maintain professionalism and composure when interacting with all employees. Train back-up and provide guidance on policies and procedures. Determine what additional support is needed when handling sensitive inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service to clients. Provide reception or concierge coverage as needed. Qualifications and Education
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. 2+ years prior work experience preferred. Ability to work assigned work hours determined by manager. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Current knowledge or ability to learn computer-based systems required for functions of the position. Professional appearance and attitude; adherence to all policies and procedures. Physical Demands
Approximately 50% of the time this position requires physical work. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of up to 60 lbs. Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity for operating office machinery. Ability to communicate effectively with onsite staff using vision, hearing, and comprehension (oral/written). Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater frequently. Travel
