Position Title: Human Resource Specialist
Department: Human Resources
Job Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Specialist provides administrative support to the HR Department and helps in the smooth operation of HR functions. The HR Specialist will need to be well-versed in recruiting and demonstrate a solid understanding of onboarding and basic benefit administration. This role plays a key part in maintaining a positive employee experience and supporting the HR functions.
Job Description:
Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, resume screening, interviews, and offer letters.
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
Utilize job boards, social media, and networking to source candidates.
Maintain applicant tracking and reporting via Monday and/or other systems.
Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation sessions.
Prepare onboarding documentation, verify eligibility to work and government census data.
Set up new hires in ADP Workforce Now or equivalent platforms.
Manage employee exits, including offboarding paperwork
Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now.
Process changes such as promotions, transfers, terminations, and other employment actions.
Run standard and ad-hoc reports to support HR functions and compliance.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Assist employees with basic benefit questions (health, dental, vision, disability, IRA, etc.)
Coordinate completions of Employee benefit enrollments
Ensure compliance with company policies, federal, and state labor laws. Assist in addressing employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and confidential manner.
Support internal HR initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
Assist in drafting HR-related communications and maintaining personnel files.
Assist in preparing and processing HR documents such as offer letters, employment contracts, and performance evaluations.
Assist in addressing employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and confidential manner.
Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries related to HR matters.
Maintain good relationships with all office and field staff
Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
Perform other duties as assigned

Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
Ability to obtain an Arsenal and FBI badge
Physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 25 pounds
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
2-4 years of HR experience with emphasis in recruiting, onboarding and HR systems
Experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or Employee Navigator is a plus.
Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices
