About Us:
Our client is a 76-year-old, fast-growing, client-focused commercial mechanical contractor known for complex mechanical system builds in healthcare, aerospace, clean rooms, and specialty environments. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering large-scale mechanical construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to mentor and oversee Junior Project Managers and Project Management Assistants. The Senior Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet our client's quality standards while fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Execution
Lead mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Coordinate estimating, scheduling, labor resources, and field support.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and our client's construction standards.
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Monitor cost control, billing, and collections for assigned projects.
Mentorship and Team Development:
Provide guidance, oversight, and performance feedback to Junior Project Managers and Project Management Assistants.
Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment.
Support training initiatives aligned with our client's company and Project Manager Development Path.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, GCs, and key project stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business.
Represent our client in meetings, negotiations, and site visits.
Operational Excellence:
Maintain accurate project documentation and status reports.
Drive adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Identify and mitigate project risks.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to refining best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of mechanical construction project management experience, preferably in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal trades.
Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with budgets ranging from $100k–$10M+.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building codes, and construction safety standards.
Proficient in cost forecasting, scheduling, and project management software (Procore).
Proficient with Microsoft programs and document management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience mentoring or supervising junior project managers.
Experience with HCAI projects, aerospace cleanrooms/labs, or specialty facilities.
Ability to develop conceptual estimates and manage turnkey proposal responses.
Knowledge of BIM coordination processes.
