Substation Repair Technician

Perform maintenance and repair activities on substation equipment with minimal oversight. This role requires an understanding of substation equipment functionality, maintenance requirements, and repair processes. Operate oil processing rigs to recondition insulating oil in high voltage equipment such as transformers. Inspect, repair, and maintain substation equipment, including oil circuit breakers and transformers. Test oil in circuit breakers and transformers for dielectric strength. Travel to sites and set up processing rigs by running hoses to the transformer being processed. Be willing and able to travel on overnight, multi-day, out-of-town jobs and work regular overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays. Repair, mechanical, AC/DC electronics, and electrical troubleshooting. Field service experience with hydraulics and substation equipment. Open to 80% travel within the United States. Experience in assembly, hand tools, pneumatics, oil & gas industry, and interpreting blueprints. High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years of direct industry experience in maintaining and repairing substation equipment. Experience driving oil processing rig preferred. Education in electrical theory and/or mechanical maintenance is preferred. Training in a technical discipline is a plus. Class A CDL preferred. The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
