Senior Staff Software Engineer , you will be a key member of the engineering team and apply advanced technical knowledge, software engineering best practices, problem-solving, and creativity to build and maintain software products that achieve technical, business, and customer experience goals. You will mentor and develop junior software engineers and act as a thought leader and subject-matter expert in multiple technical domains. Responsibilities
Heavily participate in roadmap definition, working closely with senior product and engineering leaders. Evaluate and help shape strategic technology direction and choices. Provide thoughtful recommendations in sessions with scrum team members to structure solution source code and implementation approaches, optimizing for maintainability, testability, and performance. Work with product management and business stakeholders to understand software requirements and help estimate epics, features, and stories. Script and maintain automated build steps, continuous integration systems, and staging environments. Apply strategic thinking, judgment, decision making, attention to detail, teamwork, organization, innovation, and initiative. Mentor junior members of the development team. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field 10+ years of software/data engineering experience 5+ years of experience in a thought leadership role Advanced knowledge of design patterns with a focus on Big Data Advanced understanding of Apache Spark, Python, Scala, and Databricks Extensive experience with cloud environments (Azure, GCP or AWS) Web services standards and related technology knowledge (XML, XSD, SOAP, JSON, REST) Understanding of modern software development, including version control, unit testing, and CI/CD Healthcare technology industry experience Agile development experience Strong communication skills and ability to document concisely Compensation and Benefits
This US-based position has a base pay range of $151,851.00 - $220,767.33 per year. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education. Eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan with a target of 20%. R1 offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic team.
