As the Project Manager - Ports, you will have the opportunity to operate as an energetic seller-doer with a broad range of experience to create, lead and manage high-performing teams to successful delivery of projects for our clients. The position is best suited for someone with high leadership capabilities and the ability to understand client needs and develop business growth prospects. The candidate will work closely with senior leadership developing a broader coastal and ports practice for the West Coast. This position will focus primarily on growing our footprint by providing services for Ports and Waterfront Public Works entities. Desired experience includes all facets related to the design and permitting of waterfront developments including piers, terminals and marinas. Develop a client base for providing high-level marine, port, and coastal engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities. Participate in business development activities, manage client relationships, write proposals and prepare/present selection, technical and conference presentations. Works collaboratively to grow the Ports Infrastructure Planning and Asset Management Practice. Maintain relationships with key clients, decision makers, regulators, stakeholders and Agency staff and converts these relationships into new opportunities that grow and foster a sustainable business. Supports oversight on local projects to make sure budget and schedule metrics are achieved. Responsible for setting hiring priorities, identifying candidates, and development of local staff. Supervises technical staff for yearly performance. Mentors staff on longer-term career growth. Performs technical work on strategic projects and oversee all aspects for the design and permitting of waterfront developments including piers, marinas, bulkheads, breakwaters, fendering, or boat launch ramps. Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project. Preferred Qualifications

Highly proficient with marine, port and coastal engineering principles, practices, process, design/build and the application to work-related issues 10+ years of client development and project execution experience with proven portfolio of serving both state and federal agencies. Experience in a client-facing/business development role Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Engineer license (multi-state preferred) Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card which requires a TSA background check. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
