Job Description: Allied Universal is currently hiring a full-time Security Receptionist for a corporate office in Boston, MA. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Starting pay is $26.11 per hour. Benefits include paid orientation, paid training, and DailyPay availability.

As a Security Receptionist, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as commercial real estate, healthcare, education, government, and more. The Security Receptionist plays a critical role in the overall security program and in the success of day-to-day operations. As the first line of defense, you are responsible for making the first impression with guests, customers, and clients. The receptionist reflects a professional demeanor and appearance to highlight our customer’s brand. You will provide model customer service and resolve conflict through strong communication skills. The role may involve stressful situations requiring critical thinking to de-escalate encounters, understand social cues, and call for assistance when appropriate. The position requires technical competency, computer literacy, the ability to answer inbound/outbound calls, recognize signs of intrusion, strong observation, and remaining calm under pressure. You must maintain confidential information, enforce security and safety regulations, and provide administrative support for special events, facility operations, and security functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem-solving
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; note that working environments may vary by client site
  • Closely observe persons entering and exiting the office space to protect employees and assets
  • Ensure visitors sign in correctly by assigning appropriate badges and applying approved compliance codes
  • Account for all temporary/visitor badges by logging their distribution, auditing usage, and submitting a monthly inventory
  • Mitigate unauthorized access and ensure visitors are escorted at all times
  • Monitor visible and audible alarms
  • Ensure all doors are shut and in optimal condition
  • Submit a daily activity report outlining critical events, office needs, and updates to the leadership team; provide input for documentation and day-to-day operations; report security incidents to the Global Security Operations Center

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • Willing to undergo a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
  • Willing to undergo a drug screening to the extent permitted by law
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
  • Prior experience as a receptionist
