The Romer House, Waikiki, Hawaii Overview:
The Food Runner assists servers in delivering high-quality service, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensuring an excellent dining experience. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, is required. Responsibilities: Deliver food orders rapidly and accurately from the kitchen to guests' tables. Act as the communication link between Front of the House and Back of the House staff. Communicate food orders to chefs, noting priorities and special requests such as allergies. Assist with table setting, serving food, and clearing dishes. Serve welcome drinks and hors doeuvres upon guest arrival. Ensure food safety standards, including proper temperature. Check with guests for additional orders or refills. Answer questions about ingredients and menu items. Relay guest feedback or requests to restaurant staff. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; experience in hospitality is a plus. Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy trays (up to 50 pounds). Experience as a food expeditor or similar role is preferred. Knowledge of hygiene and food safety rules. Flexible availability, including weekends. Strong multi-tasking, communication, and professionalism skills.
